Under the Professional Development umbrella, CYQ deliver Assessor, Internal Quality Assurer and Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) courses. The courses are designed to support CYQ centre staff in becoming assessors, internal quality assurers or tutors. In addition, we also welcome independent learners, such as industry managers who are increasingly utilising these qualifications to ensure the highest standards amongst their staff.

- Assessor: This course is a popular next step on the career ladder for those who currently work and want to progress within the lifelong learning sector. Primarily the role of an assessor involves assessing learners in their work place and/or learning environment. As well as being a excellent way to progress your career, an assessor qualification will also enhance their employability.
- Internal Quality Assurer: Once qualified as an assessor many learners choose to study for further professional recognition by taking an Internal Quality Assurer course. The primary role is to quality assure the assessment process to ensuring that assessors work in an impartial, professional and consistent manner. As with assessors, internal quality assurers have greater working flexibility with many choosing to work in both roles to maximise their earning potential.
- PTLLS - This introductory teaching qualification gives learners the skills required to deliver training. Once qualified, learners will have the sufficient skills and knowledge to teach in a wide range of organisations in the lifelong learning sector. This Level 3 qualification is ideal for those involved in identifying and planning learning needs and assessing.
