The aim of this qualification is to recognise the skills, knowledge and competence required for an individual to administer emergency first aid and to recognise and manage illness and injury in the workplace. This includes being able to assess, diagnose and treat casualties prior to the attendance of medically trained staff.

Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector
There are 2 awards in preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector; one at level 3, the other at Level 4.
This Level 3 qualification is for learners who are new to the Lifelong Learning Sector, have little or no teaching experience and want to get a solid introduction to basic practical teaching skills and theory.
Learners considering teaching within Higher Education Institutions should bear in mind that this Level 3 qualification is less widely recognised than the Level 4 qualification.
In addition, if the learner is progressing on to the Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector only 12 credits are permitted at Level 3 and so if they have completed Level 3 PTLLS, no more credits can be achieved at this level.
