Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer courses

Under the Professional Development umbrella, CYQ deliver Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer courses.  The courses are designed to support CYQ centre staff in becoming assessors and/or internal quality assurers. In addition, we also welcome independent learners, such as industry managers who are increasingly utilising these qualifications to ensure the highest standards amongst their staff.

Why become an assessor or internal quality assurer?

The Assessor course is a popular next step on the career ladder for those who currently work and want to progress within the lifelong learning sector.  The principle role of an assessor is to assess learners in their work place and/or learning environment. In addition to being a fantastic way to future-proof your career, assessing offers a potentially lucrative career progression. 

Learners can study for further professional recognition by taking the Internal Quality Assurer course. An internal quality assurers’ primary role is to quality assure the assessment process ensuring the assessors are acting in a professional, fair and consistent manner. Like assessors, internal quality assurers have the option to work freelance or on a permanent basis, with many choosing to work in both roles to maximise their earning potential.
