The original health and fitness awarding body

Central YMCA Qualifications was launched in 1998 as the UK's first and only awarding body to specialise in health and fitness qualifications. A qualification from CYQ became the first nationally recognised measure of standards and skills for those working in the health and fitness sector and the benchmark for both candidates and employers.

CYQ launched the first nationally recognised qualifications in a wide range of disciplines including:

• Personal Training
• Advanced Gym Instructor
• Exercise Referral
• Yoga
• Mat Pilates
• Instructing Health Related Exercise for Children
• Chair-Based Exercise for the Frailer Older Person

Today, CYQ has grown its number of training providers and remains the UK's leading health and fitness awarding body, offering an unrivalled range of qualifications. Additionally, CYQ is now using its expertise to verify standards on behalf of the European Health and Fitness Association (EHFA) and the Fitness Industry Association (FIA). In whichever role, CYQ's goal remains the same: to raise standards and achieve excellence.
