CYQ launch new QCF qualifications

CYQ's QCF qualifications have arrivedWe are delighted to announce the launch of the first phase of our new Level 1, 2 and 3 QCF qualifications. The updated qualifications are accredited on the new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) which as you may know is taking over from the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) at the end of the year. The new licence to practice qualifications are also aligned with the new REPs structure at Level 2 and Level 3. The new Level 1 qualifications provide a progression route for those learners who are interested in exploring a career within the health and fitness industry; they address key issues such as physical activity, healthy weight and lifestyle management.

From today, you can view full information on each qualification – click on the relevant link below to find out more:

"In order to develop these new qualifications we have engaged with key stakeholders such as employers, training providers and learners, to ensure that they meet the needs of today's health and fitness industry."

Download syllabuses from the CYQ websiteRegistration

There will be a simple new online registration process for all QCF qualifications. We will shortly provide further information and login details for the new service.

Syllabuses

You can download free copies of the syllabus for each QCF qualification from the centre area of the CYQ website. Click here to go to the download page (please note, you will need to be logged in).

Resources

We will be introducing new supporting resources for the qualifications over the coming months in time for September 2010.

Fees

The new fee structure for QCF qualifications more accurately represents the size of the qualifications and their associated development costs. This means that while some qualification fees have increased, others are significantly reduced. You can find the fees for the above qualifications listed on the relevant qualification page on the CYQ website.

"The implementation of the QCF presents the greatest challenge we've faced, requiring the redevelopment of our full suite of 40 qualifications; however it provides us with a great opportunity to produce innovative unit based qualifications that continue to meet the needs of our industry."

Lori Randall,
CYQ Director - Business Development

Additional QCF Readiness training days

Due to overwhelming demand, we are now running two additional QCF Readiness training days:

  • 28th June at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre, Shropshire
  • 6th July at the Castlefield Hotel, Manchester

Previous QCF Readiness training days have been over-subscribed, so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. Click here to find out more and to book your place.
