Major QCF update
This has been a significant month for CYQ in our progress towards QCF readiness. Below, we summarise the key developments.
CYQ approved for the QCF
We are delighted to announce that we have received approval by Ofqual, the qualifications regulator, to operate within the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
To date, only a handful of over 125 awarding bodies have achieved this endorsement. As you will no doubt be aware, the QCF is the new framework of regulated qualifications that will replace the current National Qualifications Framework (NQF) by December 2010.
Our approval from the regulator means we can submit new units and qualifications onto the framework.
New QCF fitness instructing qualifications
Following the news of our QCF approval, we can also confirm that the units for the following qualifications have been confirmed:
- Level 2 Gym, Exercise to Music, Water-based Exercise and Children's Fitness
- Level 3 Personal Trainer
NQF Qualification accreditation end dates
The majority of CYQ's current qualifications have been extended until the end of 31st December 2010, the date upon which the NQF expires.

Revised CYQ website
Next time you log onto the CYQ website you will notice a few changes. We have revised the website to make it much more user friendly with:
- A new menu system
- A larger screen bigger resolution
- A re-organised centre area with access to a much wider range of forms and guidance documents
How to login
The login button is now located above the CYQ logo in the top right corner of the Homepage. Once logged in, a Centre Home button will appear in the same place, allowing you to return to the secure centre area no matter where you are on the website.
