First approved centre in South Africa
eta (Exercise Training and Sports Academy), a leading provider of education programmes for the sport and fitness industry, has signed up as the first approved centre in South Africa to be accredited by CYQ for their training provision. This approval follows a visit by the CYQ Business Development Team to the country in March.
Preparing for the QCF
We will shortly be announcing exciting details about our new Qualification Development Strategy which heralds the move from the NQF (National Qualifications Framework) to the QCF (Qualifications and Credit Framework). Look out for dedicated information arriving in your Inbox in the next few weeks.
Preregistration
As part of our preparations for the QCF, we will be introducing preregistration for all CYQ qualifications from 1st September 2009. This will change some of our administrative processes, details of which will be published over the coming months. We endeavour to make the processes as simple as possible. Fees for VRQs will continue to be charged at the point of certification.
Have you completed our IT Capacity Survey yet?
As you may know, last week we launched our IT survey to find out about your centre's IT facilities. If you haven't already done so, we'd be grateful if you could complete the survey by clicking on the link below.

Funding - recording Guided Learning Hours
Please ensure that you record the correct Guided Learning Hours (GLH) on Individualised Learner Records. This will protect funding for CYQ qualifications; if lower GLH are recorded, the qualifications will be re-assessed with this lower GLH during LSC funding reviews, resulting in reduced funding.
You can find the GLH for each qualification on its page on the CYQ website (www.cyq.org.uk/qualifications). If you have any questions about recording GLH, please contact n.ward@cyq.org.uk.
A new way to complete CQ1s
You can now complete the CQ1 Programme Notification Form online. Simply submit four weeks prior to the delivery of each programme. If you prefer you can download and complete a form notifying us of multiple programmes.
