Changing names: MIAP to become the Learning Records Service

From September 2010, Managing Information Across Partners (MIAP) will now be called the Learning Records Service. The rebranding is designed to more accurately reflect the functions of the organisation, which provides free support to the education sector in the streamlining of administrative functions: when collecting learner information, processing and publishing award data.

MIAP’s existing services, products and applications will also be merging with the current Personal Learning Record for the Qualifications and Credit Framework.

Correction to Level 2 Mandatory Units Syllabus

We would like to draw your attention to an error in our Level 2 Mandatory Units syllabus. On page 60, point 4.2a should read 'supine' and not 'prone' under the ACOG Guidelines. This will be corrected in subsequent versions. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

CYQ's Level 1 qualifications support part A4 of Ofsted inspection criteria

Both of CYQ's Level 1 qualifications, the Award in Lifestyle Management and Award in Fitness and Physical Activity, support the A4 element of Ofsted’s common inspection framework for further education and skills. This element asks Ofsted inspectors to evaluate whether learners have the knowledge and understanding to enable them to make informed choices about their health and well-being.

For example, to successfully contribute to this requirement, the new L1 Award in Lifestyle Management could be delivered centre-wide during tutorial time to all learners in your centre. Click here to view further information about our Level 1 qualifications.

A reminder about CYQ's Result Enquiry Service

The Result Enquiry Service includes a re-check of all clerical procedures which lead to the issue of a result. Checks are carried out to ensure that:

  1. All parts of the theory assessment have been marked
  2. The totalling of marks is correct
  3. The recording of marks is correct
  4. Hand marking takes place to ensure the accuracy of the electronic marking system
  5. Reasonable assessment adjustments have been applied, where applicable
  6. Special consideration has been applied, where applicable
  7. A review of marking takes place by the Qualification Development Manager

As a result of the checks that are carried out, learners' marks can go up or down. We aim to carry out this service within 21 working days of acknowledging the request.

Please note that this service is not available for internally assessed practical assessment and coursework.
